Thank you for your wonderful forum. I wonder if you could comment on the role of theory in Ericksonian Therapy. My understanding is that Erickson did not refer to any particular theoretical orientation to conceptualize behavior, but he encouraged therapists to familiarize themselves with as many theories as possible. It seems to me that Erickson formulated theoretical concepts that clarify communication and change, rather than human development. I found that the Adlerian theoretical perspective offers a wonderfully matching and supporting theory base with it's emhasis on individual creativity and dynamic unity, even including Adler's caveat "Alles kan auch anders sein" (Everything might also be different). Would you comment please?
