The Salvific Process

I have been using Adlerian therapeutic process for 3 years in my practice as a pastoral counselor. I am also a Southern Baptist Pastor. I have come to experience the emphasis on socratic questioning, the emphasis on encouraging clients to face previously self-serving life styles in favor of life styles that favor greater social interest as very complimetary to the traditional salvific process encouraged in evangelical christianity.

I believe that Evangelicals recognize the process of confession, repentance, and change toward a "way" of greater social interest as comparative to the "way" proclaimed by Christ.

This would - could- be compared to a tradition which has historically placed greater emphasis on contemplative practice. By this I refer to more mainline traditions of Christianity. These traditions, I believe would find greater comfort or attraction to Junian Analysis. I have experienced supervision with Jungian analysts as extremely heady and contemplative.

I then have come to prefer the process of change, healing, and yes ontology of Adlerian therapy.
