In the organizational design literature there is a paucity in the study of personality factors`s effect on organizational performance. Since the performance of an organization is dependent on its actors, personality factors are intimately related to organzational performance.
Can anybody recommend literature which can shed light on the following:
I have heard that some work has been done regarding communication and personality differences among pilots. The MBTI-people assert that personality is important, but I have seen very few studies which exploit such knowledge, and no controlled studies.
It's been suggested to me that most current literature asserts that envirtomental variables and constraints are more important than personality. However, the current literature I'm aware of only stresses that differences in personality are a source of conflict and variety, but not how.
What is the current state of the art regarding communication differences and difference in personality?
