Program Description
This conference will report on the findings of the Mount Zion Brief Psychotherapy Research Project concerning the applicability and conduct of brief psychodynamic psychotherapy. The focus of this conference will be on the clinical applications of findings from the Research Project. Specifically, there will be presentations on how to assess a patient's problems and goals, how a patients works in therapy, what the therapist does to help the patient, and on assessing therapeutic progress. Actual clinical material will be used to illustrate clinical phenomena.
Program Goals and Objectives By the end of the course you will: 1. Have a historical overview of brief psychodynamic psychotherapy.
2. Have a model for integrating longer-term and brief psychodynamic psychotherapy. 3. Understand the benefits and limitations of brief psychodynamic psychotherapy. 4. Understand how to conduct brief psychodynamic psychotherapy.

This course is pending approval for 7.0 hours of Mandatory Continuing Education Credit by the CPAAA.
