I have not seen the article on the controversy between Dawkins and Gould, but I did witness an earlier version...a few years back in Cambridge. At that time I concluded that Gould was both a showman and bully. Perhaps the key thing for us to remember is that many of the so-called scientific confrontations carry their own messages about human conflict, ego, and even political leanings. We ain't as objective and removed from those other circuits as we often appear, or at least try to appear.
