I would like to add that I have been successful with related symptoms of hair loss by treating it basically as a retroflection. That is, using hypnosis with the patient in trance to help them investigate the people or persons who acted in the manner that makes them want to pull their hair out. Ultimately, these people or this person is someone toward whom client may wish to be angry. As the clients became comfortable with their anger directed toward these correct targets, symptoms abated.
If both of these symptoms exist in the same client, it is likely that he or she becomes very uncomfortable with any and all adrenaline-base experience. So, a treatment approach for this person should proceed with measured care and build aggressive behaviors in small, incremental, steps.
Please remember that the wisdom of the patient is more important than a great theory held by the therapist. The age of the client, and the developmental difficulties faced by the client, will dictate how the client might best express anger or aggression. And overall, the client's informed consent about such treatment goals must be a part of the treatment contract. (I only include these final comments as a safeguard for the uninformed reader).
