The mania material in this forum was written before I knew about Russ Gardner, MD, Harry Davis Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. Dr. Gardner described mania in terms of alpha language in 1982.

The citation is: Gardner R. (1982) Mechnisms in manic depressive disorder: An evolutionary model. "Archives of General Psychiatry," 39, 1436-1441.
