Hmmm.... Distance Learning is a **BIG*** area. If you mean taking courses from a distance, there are oodles of universities doing this (a quick search of Infoseek found over 50,000 hits, most universities). If you are talking about psychology I need some more information before I can answer your question.
Have you seen Marlene Maheu's Distance Learning Center? Try www.cybertowers.com. Also try John Grohol's site -- I haven't looked for awhile, but I seem to remember some there (right, John?).
I have tried to do a bit of this impromptu in my role as professor teaching courses, but it is very difficult to do in real time. My reading of the literature is that asynchronous learning is much easier and streamlined - with each person logging on and getting messages, info, etc at their own time.
