Jim, I was responding to Doug. You understand my motives generally, but I distinguish between personal motives and motives that relate to this forum. Regarding the latter, my motive is simply to present a form of CMT that embraces all of the various interventions CM therapists actually employ.
CM therapists intervene on the basis of both inter-personal and intra-personal realities. When it comes time to explain their interventions theoretically, however, they tend to mention only inter-personal factors. In my estimation, this causes them to present an inaccurate picture--perhaps even to themselves--of what they actually do in helping their patients. I hope to have Parts II and III completed by the end of the Thanksgiving weekend.
