Online relationships

I too have taken notice of the pervasiveness of romance on the Internet. I have chatted with more than a few individuals who have reported "falling in love" with someone, many times who is married with a family, and plans on continuing the new relationship. They reported extremely high phone bills, of course. While these were casual chats I had, I have thought and discussed with a colleague the research implications... Any thoughts?
