Pete thoroughly annoys his mom by carrying the family cordless phone, room to room, talking to his friends while he does schoolwork or chores. I inquire, why they need the cordless. Mom responds that she needs it because she "has" to talk to someone while she's working around the house.

She seemed a bit more forgiving of her son when she noted the similarity.
