Communication Depends on Each Sibling's Style of Life

Communication between each sibling in a family is influenced somewhat by birth order, but may be influenced more strongly by other factors, including: parental attitudes, family atmosphere (cooperative, competitive, etc..), gender roles, and culture. Ultimately, it is the individual's freely chosen style of life (and fictional final goal) that determines the quality of communication with another family member.

Also look at Frank Sulloway's new book, "Born to Rebel..." --he makes some interesting, but not always clinically useful conclusions about birth order.
