I have served as a consultant treatment specialist for about four years with juvenile sexual offenders in a residential treatment facility, which houses no more than 38 residents for a program of approximately one year. Over the course of the years, I have rendered Specialized Treatment for approximately a dozen juvenile sex offenders. We have a medical/psychological/counseling/education program. We know that 30% have reoffended within three years and others have gone on to commit other crimes. Our program has intense 1:1 counseling, diadic and small group work, in addition to medications, education and behavior components. Offenders are integrated into the general population
