    As a start, you may get some ideas by reading "Direct versus indirect suggestions: A conceptual and methodological review" by Lynn, Neufeld, and Mare in the Int J of Clin & Exp Hypn, 1993, 41, 124-152.

    It's a controversial article, but in it, you will get lots of references for research on Ericksonian Hypnotherapy. Eric
