An Ericksonian approach with any patient would be that which makes use of certain principles. These are probably covered in detail here (and certainly in a number of texts) so I will only refer to them: utilization of the individual's behavior, indirection and direction to elicit and desired (and needed) experiential resources, association and practice of those resources in the context they are needed. Often this is enhanced by the use of absorption and concentration brought on during hypnosis. Since each person's behavior, background, and processes are different (regardless of their problem label) the way utilization unfolds is different; the experiences they have and need are different; they are associated differently - sometimes more cognitively oriented, sometimes more emotional, sometimes more behavioral, sometimes more social, etc., and ALWAYS a mixture of each, if therapy is complete and able to be well done.
