In the previous message bc mentions "AV" - which is short for "avatar." Avatars are the icons or graphic images that people use to represent themselves in multimedia chat environments (if you're interested, check out my article on avatars - http://www1.rider.edu/~suler/psycyber/psyav.html)

Jung said that everyone possesses anima and animus in their personality - "female" and "male" characteristics. However, people tend to suppress and fail to develop either the anima or animus. If he's right, then maybe gender switching in cyberspace sometimes is a healthy exploration and development of oneself.
