Does Jung recognize, or relate his theories, to Freud's ego/id/superego?
Your comment caused me to wonder if perhaps inhibitions (superego) might be relaxed online because typical social conventions or constraints don't apply to the degree they do in real life.
The activation of polarities and shadows is intriguing. Cyberspace is a place where people may present differing images to the world, if they so choose--affording them the opportunity to experiment.
Haven't most of us at some time assumed a different "attitude" or "demeanor" online? How much of it, I wonder, is "experiementation," how much might be attributable to superego/id, and how much might be attributable to those polarities and shadows.
Thanks for your comments re. Jung. I wonder if the bookstore is still open after midnight... ; )
