Interesting ideas. I agree that analogies are analogies, and SOMETIMES they are useful - if used usefully. Never thought about cannon balls in this context before. McLean's ideas are interesting, though in a strict neurobiological sense, more metaphorical than material. I'll give your ideas some reflection. Maybe others will join us! That would be nice.
