Totally agree with your comments regarding Dr. Erickson. I was referring to those who practice "Ericksonian" or any other "type" of therapy. Those involved in recovering hidden memories, by and large, portrayed themselves as having an esoteric knowledge, unavailable to most(trance). They used this special knowledge as a basis to justify their methods and their results. This was elitism of the highest order. Being Ericksonian implies that there are non-Ericksonian positions. I'm sure that you would agree that Dr. Erickson wouldn't have limited himself to "Ericksonian" therapy.
