VR comes in many flavors even among the same developer, such as Dragon Systems (at least 8 versions currently available). My office uses Dragon NaturallySpeaking Professional Version 3.0. A half-hour spent "training" the software, and we were dictating progress notes with 98% accuracy at about 150 words per minute. I suggest you purchase VR software from a vendor who specializes in the technology and can make sure you have the correct hardware and training. Hardware issues, such as soundcard and microphone selection are critical to the successful implementation of this software. We are also able with our Dragon to dictate directly into our treatment planning software (TheraScribe 3.0)---it's pretty darn slick!!
