    Correctly diagnosing dissociatives vs. bipolars
    Scientist · 10/18/01 at 12:56 ET

I would greatly appreciate some leads on finding psychologists/ psychiatrists in Colorado,
who would be in the position to correctly diagnoze
    dissociatives.

I would not expect EMDR to be particularly effective with true bipolar disorder, and I know of no
    research on this point.

Some people with the diagnosis of bipolar disorder are actually misdiagnosed dissociatives, and
EMDR can be helpful in that condition with an appropriate protocol.
