I think that at least for some, writer's block is more than a performance anxiety. I am in the middle of writting a mystery novel and work with a writting group of others who are in the midst of a full length novel. At least for me, writer's block is not, as best as I can tell about performance or anxiety, but rather a sense of emptiness and barrenness in the creative process. It is not so much about being fearful or worried about what you will write, but rather about not being able to write. There is an element of anxiety, but that is usually about a fear that the creatvity will never return. I do not have much information about using EMDR for this type of writer's block, just wanted to note that at least in my experience it is not really about performance anxiety.
