Well, first let me repeat my usual statement that we can't offer tailored responses to specific cases, since we haven't asssessed, diagnosed, etc, properly here. All I can do is make some general statements that would apply to many people, and caution you to consult with your own therapist to determine whether and how the comments might apply to you. It is inadvisable to do an uncovering and opening up kind of therapy, like EMDR, and then suddenly stop in the middle. It is also inadvisable to have a patient jump off the operating table in the middle of surgery, and for similar reasons. People can emotionally "bleed" much more than they would if they completed the treatment. If it is unavoidable for people to delay completion of treatment of uncovered trauma, then relying on containment and relaxation and safe place imagery will be key for many clients. These skills should have been in place before starting the uncovering work.
