Thank you for your response, AND yes I do understand that this is not a suitable forum for more detail clinical questions specific to my history. My MD also has specific training in Psychopharmacology, as well as being a general intern. He is concerned with the whole person and believes that the primary care doctor should be just that. The therapist I am now seeing works with my MD as a team and it is nice to know they work well together in my best interest. The issue of maybe using PRN meds for those rough days in between EMDR sessions when so much seems to get stirred up. I guess an interesting study might look at the relationship between the benefits of managing the intense (anxious/panic/terror) feelings and body memories that the EMDR brings up, with smoothening like PRN use of the anti-anxiety meds or even beta blockers. As for me I can deal with the symptoms of depression and still function. The questions of meds (as I see it in my case) is to help manage these range of physical and emotional feelings, while I learn to incorporate coping skills and still function in my otherwise 'normal' lifestyle. Again Thanks for your answer. And have a safe and Wonder-filled holiday season. Anne-Marie
