    Re:emdr and fibromyalgia

    To my knowledge there are no studies demonstrating the effectiveness of EMDR with this problem. There are a number of psychotherapists who are using EMDR to assist patients in pain management and some of this data might be applicable to this problem, given the pain compenent to fibromyalgia. I have used EMDR with phantom limb pain with very good results. This does not mean, of course, that this would work with fibromyalgia. At this point the only evidence that we have is some anecdotal reports that it has proven helpful in some cases.
