    All therapists should ensure, before first conducting EMDR, that all clients have been appropriately screened, and containment skills are in place.

    I'd urge you to follow up with your therapist, not for additional EMDR at this point, but for relaxation, containment imagery and soothing procedures. You can print this out and take it in to the therapist. If the therapist has questions about appropriate screening, a call to a consultant would be indicated.

    These are general principles that apply to all cases with EMDR.
