I don't see anything superficial about performance enhancement. If however you want to help people enhance their performance, you can get the manual from Jennifer Lendl and Sam Foster. Either can be located through EMDRIA, but I'd recommend Jennifer because she's in this country and Sam is in Italy. Good luck on making your values choices.
And if it doesn't seem valuable to you then by all means, don't do it. There is plenty of suffering to address as far as the eye can see.
