Most DIDs have positive resources inside, maybe older kids who know how to cope with the outside world, maybe one in charge of humor, one in charge of doing math, one in charge of spirituality. When they align there is a powerful resource team. When they link arms the energy powerfully flows through them and gives hope and strength and courage to those who might feel overwhelmed. That grows the client ego strength. Not every DID does well with EMDR, and the therapist simply has to know what they are doing and be trained in treating DID's. Having had good luck with one DID isn't enough. If you review this forum and its archives you'll find many posts about and by DID folks.
