Yes, well, EMDR is an associative process. Some people need containment, and stabilization, through imagery or hypnosis that utilizes the ability to pull positives forward and push negatives back until there is stability. Need MORE walls not less, in the early stages of treatment. Like a warehouse iwth no walls, maybe you put in dividers to organize things. Eventually, then, each functional area in the warehouse gets handled and cleaned up, maybe through EMDR, and THEN the dividers or walls can go. EMDR takes down walls because it is associative; trance can be used to create walls because it is related to dissociation. That's my take on it.
