I deleted two nuisance posts - they didn't make sense to you because they didn't make sense.

It can sometimes be hypnotically suggeswted that a team of alters that are dedicated to protection, healing and wholeness work together now to rebuild the wall brick by brick, wall going up, wall going up....etc.

Other containment procedures may work as well, e.g., gathering up the material that was pulled out and putting it in tupperware, putting the lid on the tupperware, putting it in a vault, and so forth.

Therapists who fail to screen for a dissociative disorder and proceed to do EMDR on a previously undiagnosed DID client are risking precisely this kind of flooding, and are operating in direct conflict with the EMDR Institute's urgings since 1992 and in my opinion are therefore operating below the standard. Such therapists need to seek consultation and get appropriate training in dissociation. See www.issd.org.
