First I thought that reiterating the same information was cause for deletion of the post. We have already covered the topics you discussed in previous posts and they have added nothing to the previous post. However, regarding Devilly and Spence (1999) as being the only outlier, the other studies did not compare EMDR with empirically supported treatments for PTSD. Just because they were CBT-type techniques does not mean that they should be used in place of imaginal exposure. When this was compared the research to date demonstrates increased efficacy for exposure over EMDR according to Devilly and Spence. Of course Cahill (2000) also covers this topic more in depth if interested.
