Without making specific case comments, I'll make some general ones. Part of the standard workup prior to a first EMDR trauma treatment is to screen EVERYONE for degree of dissociation, and certainly we have to consider this for people with long histories of incest. When there is a lot of dissociation, the approach is different, must be a protocol appropriate for dissociative clients. There needs to be sufficient ego strength and positive resources, especially "safe place" present before doing trauma processing. Some people already have it, some people need to work on it first (with Resource Development & Installation). Then trauma processing via EMDR can often be conducted, using the standard protocol.
