Plenty of people have done bad things. Still, it's possible to learn to live with this history, for example by: The bad a person has done will never disappear. But there is room for healing, and EMDR can certainly contribute to this. I work a lot with juvenile delinquents including many who have done a lot of damage. There are many components to my treatment approach, but it does include EMDR.
- understanding what drove you to do that, perhaps leading to compassion and forgiveness for yourself.
- learning from these experiences to become a better person.
- committing to actively doing positive things in an attempt to balance the bad with good. This might be directed towards actual past victims, or not.
