EMDR is eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, not just the reprocessing. So in that context "EMDR" without eye movement is not EMDR. But I agree with you that therapy in general is reprocessing, reframing and gaining a greater insight and understanding of conflicts. And that is in itself very powerful - if it can be achieved. But understanding in a larger context and "knowing" in a personal "I am" sense is very different, and where I have found EMDR to be the most powerful. It doesn't overlayer old wounds with new bandages - it heals. Diane
