Thank you for your well wishes. In my case this preverbal state was a dissociative split, and I have DID. Dissociative splits do a kind of flooding when they are accessed and this shuts down the executive functioning parts of the brain, if my reading of the medical trauma research literature is accurate. The last time this "state" or "split" was triggered had nothing to do with meditation or fear, nor was it accessed by me on purpose. It was triggered by a not particularly stressful situation with my SO. I think I know what you are refering to though. In meditation one reaches a still point, but that is still under conscious control. In a fearful situation, when you experience a shock-type state there is also a point where thoughts cease, but the body tone is not flacid and you can still understand language. This is different.
