Is anyone making a distinction between positive images and positive ideas? I am wondering, because maybe em's reduce the intensity of positive "images" because they are integrated into memory. But a positive "idea" might be different? I'm trying not to get theological here, but rdi, for me, and some others, is often about accessing a spiritual, hopeful side of self. Bls increases the felt sense of well being and inner strength. That, to me, is very different from a "good" memory. Also, is anyone making any distinctions between highly dissoociative vs "average" clients? After all, if one has memory and consciousness which is fragmented, the deconstruction of the walls -- the end of fragmentation -- which can happen with bls -- would decrease the intensity of both good and bad memories and images. I think here of an object wrapped up and kept fresh... of course it is will dimimish in "freshness", in power, when "unwrapped". Again, though, that is all different from accessing a core strength, which is what I understand rdi to be about. Such a core is not a "boxed" item but a pervasive "foundation". It does not need to be kept "fresh" to be felt intensely. Any thoughts, anyone?
