There is no limit to how early trauma can occur in life. When trauma occurs in infancy, the reliving of that trauma (either accidentally when something triggers it or deliberately as part of a therapeutic process to release that old material) can sometimes involve bodily reliving it. I have a videotape of a client having pseudoseizures during EMDR - it was actually infant alters emerging -- and when a psychological specializing in neonatal research looked at the video, she was amazed at how the musculature, even muscle tone, head movements, etc perfectly echoed those of an infant of about 10-12 months.
It wasn't seizures at all, it was a baby self.
