Yes, we can tell about trauma work readiness by seeing whether people have some degree (instead of zero degree) of belief in a positive self statement that they wish were more true. Let me try that again. If someone doesn't believe AT ALL that they are safe now, they aren't ready for trauma work. If they have a little or moderate belief that they are safe now, they can proceed, if some other things are true. Can they get themself to a "safe place" in the mind's eye? And finally, in answer to your question, yes, introject work is parts work. Introjects are one type of part of the self, and very important ones indeed.
Can they soothe themselves if they feel disturbed?
Can they lower anxiety and control impulses enough to stay safe?
