Power refers to the ability to detect differences when there are differences to be detected. Powers had a larger sample but failed to detect statistical differences between treatments. Devilly and Spence had a smaller sample, but were able to detect statistical differences. Thus power is not an issue for interpreting the Devilly and Spence study nor does it offer an explanation for the differences between the two studies.
