I recently had an EMDR session focused around a very painful subject, and it brought up significant physical sensations (pain) in my wrists and inner arms. We processed the material that came up, and the sensations were over at the time I left the office. However, about 5 minutes later, the sensations returned and continued, on and off, throughout the rest of the day, although they were slightly different: only about 30% of the original intensity and more of a half-pain, half-tickling feeling - like when your arm falls asleep). What could be the cause of this? Does it mean we didn't fully process it, even though we thought we had? Or could it be something else? Is this normal?
