I meant that the tone tapes (from my experience with the website) were available for sale to anyone. However, there, if I remember correctly, were some hoops to jump through if one wanted to purchase training books or training videotapes (such as proof of professional standing, etc).

It occurs to me also that I may be wrong... maybe the website says the tone tapes are for professionals only... I purchased them after reading Grand's emdr book and he recommends them for relaxation in the book. So I may not have paid much attention to any caveats at the website.

Hmm, on that note, when I first purchased the tapes last year (which my three year old unwound!) it was a very different experience than when I purchased them a few weeks ago. The tapes I just got included basic instructions on some protocol stuff, which I was very surprised by, given the dangers of having untrained persons using emdr. I am about as untrained as one can get...
