There are a variety of things that can be done to make using EMDR with dissociatrive disorders very effective. They really need to be targeted to your specific needs, so it is difficult to say much here. However, a few thoughts. First, go to a Level II (now Part II) trained therapist. Second, select a therapist who is also very experienced with dissociative disorders independent of their EMDR work. Third, make sure to tell them of your experience with DID and discuss ways to proceed. Finally, proceed slowly. If there are still seperate ego states, work to make sure that all are on board with the therapy process. Hope this helps.
