The Cleveland Center for Cognitive Therapy offers a number of options (either in Cleveland or at your location):
This program is designed for therapists who wish to develop skill in the practice of Cognitive Therapy with the complex problems encountered in clinical practice. It consists of 69.5 hours of seminars offered over a period of ten months. The seminars combine didactic presentations and readings with video-taped demonstrations, case consultation, and practice in the use of cognitive techniques. The program will next be offered beginning in October of 1998.
Our staff can design and implement in-service training programs and workshops tailored to the needs of your particular organization. These can range from brief didactic presentations to extended training programs which include experiential exercises, case consultation, and planned follow-up. A broad range of topics are possible. Groups for whom we have provided training include community mental health centers, hospital psychiatry departments, and private practices. Workshop sponsors have ranged from nationally known organizations such as the Mayo Clinic to local organizations such as the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Lorain Community Hospital.
We offer both individual and group consultation to mental health professionals. Consultation can be scheduled a single session at a time or can be scheduled on a weekly or monthly basis. Consultation sessions can be general case consultation or can focus on specific topics or issues which are of interest to you. We also offer consultation in the form of a "second opinion" in which we conduct an evaluation and provide treatment recommendations for a client for whom you will continue to provide treatment.
In conjunction with audioPsych, we are developing continuing education programs delivered over the Internet. These programs deliver, through your Internet connection, an audio presentation, slides which are synchronized with the audio, additional readings, opportunities to ask questions and participate in discussion, and periodic interactive reviews which provide immediate feedback regarding your mastery of the material.
