Re: More on Compulsive drinking (of water)

Once more thank you for your interest and for the suggestions.
I think that the problem is very related with OCD, but as i said, this patient has a bipolar disorder and she is usualy stable, but there is some days in which she is very dysphoric or euphoric, in those days it is impossible to focus in her water problem. Despite of this, she recognizes that she drinks to much and that it is bad for her health.
We have been doing some records of the amount of liquid, but every time i ask her to do so, she is very reluctant, seems like she wants to keep the problem. Well, i have a lot of dificulties to have her doing records.
The exposure sessions have been very helpfull, the problem is that she doesn´t do it without me! You are right i have to do more frequent and prolonged sessions.

I have notice that since the levels of water went down, she starts drinking and eating more coffee and cookies, i´m afraid she is starting another compulsive behavior.
One question: wath do you mean by "idiosyncratic beliefs or fears"?

    Thanks a lot.
