    Re:Ego-dystonic harming obsessions

    THANK "Anxiety specialist" & JIM.

    The symptoms that preceed the thought of self-harm in this case are:
    Situation: Mostly night time when alone in bed

    Physical :" a physical feeling of pressure in the forehead"

    Emotions : Anxious, worried

    Cognitions: "It feels like a boiling kettle, and if the knob could be open to let some steam that would relieve me from that pressure", "If I cut my arm, I will be relieved of that pressure" ( like the kettle)

    Present coping strategy: "I take Diazepam 2mgs) but want to stop diazepam"

    (Look forward for you expert advise)
