Your place or mine - therapy in the clients home
    Laurette · 08/28/03 at 9:30 PM ET

My work is predominately undertaken in the clients own home. This is due to a number of factors but most of which is centred ont eh practicalities for the older adults that I work with being able to access transport to the department. Also as a part of the therapeutic process the task of coming to my office itself may form part of treatment - utlising coping strategies, problem solving, overcoming anxieties etc etc. I work in New Zealand and my colleagues in other towns that also work with older adults also report that a lot of their work is done in the clients home. I have tried to find literature on this issue of your place or mine, but cannot find any and would appreciate some direction on where to look.
    Regards
