While I really like my own conceptualization of BPD, there are other perspectives worth considering. The most widely known is Marsha Linehan's Dialectical Behavior Therapy. It is a very interesting but complex conceptualization which combines CBT, Dialectical Materialism, and Buddhism. Also, Mary Ann Layden and colleagues published a volume on Cognitive Therapy of Borderline Personality Disorder which presents their conceptualization and Arnhoud Arntz is writing the chapter on BPD for the second edition of Cognitive Therapy of Personality Disorders. I haven't seen Arntz's chapter yet but I assume he'll be presenting both his conceptualization and empirical data about cognitions in BPD.
