Given this additional information, my inclination still would be to treat the depression and PTSD first (i.e. CT for depression & PTSD, you can find quite a bit on both topics posted in this forum). If she has an idealized view of maternal love, it probably would be useful to help her consider whether it would be a good idea to see about meeting some of her needs within the imperfect relationships which are available to her rather than waiting for a perfect love which never seems to arrive. However, I'm not at all sure I'd want to get into this while she's still depressed. If she has a history of sexual abuse, I'd be very cautious about hugs (or anything which could inadvertantly recapitulate her experience of abuse). Since she seems to be looking for an ideal love, this would add to my caution about hugs or anything else which might make it appear that her therapist will satisfy her desire for love. She may well idealize you and imagine that you are the one person who can provide the love she seeks.
