    CT produces more long-lasting improvement

    Steve Hollon and Rob DeRubeis, presented a study at the convention of the American Psychiatric Association which showed that Cognitive therapy and antidepressants were equally effective for initial treatment of severe depression, but that the effects of cognitive therapy are more enduring and may prove to be more cost-effective in the long run.
