I am designing support groups for children and adolescents who have a parent who is incarcerated. I am using play therapy and art therapy techniques in my sessions, however, it has been suggested that I incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy into the play therapy....I didn't know that you could do this. To me,it seems to take away from the actual play therapy component of the group. Play therapy is fun and an unobtrusive way of communicating with the client without traditional talk therapy. What would a session look like...where does the play therapy fit in? I need help with this.....
